Political career
Chiranjeevi started the Praja Rajyam party in 2008 in the state of Andhra Pradesh. In 2009 elections his party won 18 Seats and he was elected as the member of the State Assembly from Tirupati. Praja Rajyam Party merged with the Indian National Congress party on 6 February 2011 and he was nominated to Rajya Sabha on 29 March 2012. He got Rajya Sabha member on 3 April 2012, On 28 October 2012, he was sworn the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
Humanitarian work
He established the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust On 2 October 1998, which includes Chiranjeevi Blood and Eye Banks.
